Wine of the Day: Troublemaker – Paso Robles Red Blend, California
BLEND: 54% Syrah, 22% Grenache, 13% Mourvedre, 11% Zinfandel
The Troublemaker is a blend crafted from multiple varietals and vintages. The majority of the wine comes from 2011 vintage, with a remaining portion coming from 2010. The younger wine brings forth a youthful vibrancy and freshness while the base vintage (2011) adds complexity and structure that completes the wine. Troublemaker combines elegance and power. Dark ruby in color, it displays robust aromas of ripe black cherry, vanilla, nutmeg and tobacco. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied with a velvety mouthfeel. Vibrant flavors of red berries and strawberry are layered with pepper, cocoa and anise. Displaying structure and balance, it will age beautiful.
