Sunday is kick back day. This Villa Rosa Moscato D’asti sourced from southern-facing hillside vineyards that surround the town of Santo Stefano Belbo in Piedmont. Villa Rosa Moscato is frizzante, or lightly sparkling, with an aromatic bouquet of sweet peach and apricot and delicate mineral qualities. A pleasantly sweet, yet refreshing way to just chill and relax. Happy Sunday!
The 2012 vintage of our Alexander Valley Merlot strikes a delicate balance between finely woven structure and soft, silky fruit. Sleek, mouth-filling tannins glide across the palate and are complemented by aromas of blackberry, currant, and sweet oak. Rich flavors of cherry, chocolate cake, and vanilla lead to a well-focused finish. This Merlot will be available for tasting tonight.
A blend of 63% Garnacha and 37% Carinena, Cims del Montsant is made from grapes grown at the foot of the Montsant in the Siurana valley and aged for five months in French oak barrels. This medium-bodied wine starts of with a floral bouquet of bright red fruit, strawberry pastille and red currant preserves on the nose. The well structured palate offers good depth of fruit with mulberry, dark plum flavors with underlying notes of fresh ginger and baking spice towards a bold, focused finish. This wine is part of the Seminar presentation for tonight. You will be able to taste it first hand.
This 2011 Cabernet has an opaque, youthful dark ruby color. The aromas of dark cherry, plum and black currant are integrated with the spicy sweetness of oak. With the subtle sweet aroma of dried figs, black pepper, dried herbs and dark chocolate, this wine has an abundance of complex aromas and flavors. The body is very full with a soft entry, coupled with bright dark cherry/berry flavors that develop from start to finish. With great texture and mouth feel, this Cabernet is full bodied, rich and opulent. An absolute delicious.
