This 19th Century Château Saint-Honoré is located in the seaside Côtes de Provence sub-appellation of La Londe east of Hyères. The estate’s 160 acres of vines thrive on forested slopes amid oaks, pines and mimosa overlooking the Mediterranean’s Îles d’Or (Golden Islands); Porquerolles, Port Cros, and Le Levant. Schist and sand
soils containing a significant amount of quartz dominate the Maures-Esterel coastal range. La Londe’s unique terroir, recentlydelimited from the larger, diverse Côtes de Provence appellation, yields high-toned rosés with floral and citrus aromas and flavors.
Wine of the Day: Garnacha de Fuego (Fire) Rose, Spain
The winery is located in Munébrega, in the region of Calatayud (Aragon). The winery has 265 acre of Grenache from old vines, located at the top of the slopes ranging from 950 to 1,000 meters above sea level.
The vines are planted on two different plots. The first is characterized by decomposed slate. The second is composed mainly of red clay soils seriously. Although there is very little rainfall in the region, the clay holds enough water to the vines get moisture and are grown without irrigation. Then, the grapes are carefully harvested by hand and selected only the perfectly ripe bunches. The wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures.
This Garnacha de Fuego (Fire) Rose is a solid effort that has a light salmon color to go with notions of cherry blossom, orange peel and herbs de Provence. Medium-bodied, supple, fresh easy-drinking for summer.

On the palate, the initial impression is tender; well-rounded and fresh, this wine has harmonious balance and good length on the finish.

Manual harvest is handled in small case of 25kg at the best maturation period, and in the less exposed to the sun’s vineyard plot, for best freshness, sugar, and aromas content, followed by a delicate sorting of the grapes avoiding rotten or green ones, then by a gentle destalking and crushing. Light, fresh and fine bubbles, intense rose color and flavors conjugated of abundant fresh fruit and note of the stage. Body well balanced and great elegance. Wine of fest, ideal for cocktail and fine dessert.
